This past week has been full of birthday fun. I turned 30 on Wednesday but the festivities began last weekend. Eric teases me every year about how my birthday seems to last all month long and he is right- it does! I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Birthdays should be celebrated big- life is too short to not fully enjoy every single one. Just wait, the month of June will be packed full of special occasions, meals, gifts, and much more :).
This year's birthday was especially wonderful. Some people may not believe this but I love the fact that I am turning 30. I couldn't ask for a better life, for a better family, for a better job, for a better husband, for better friends, and most importantly, I couldn't have a more amazing son!
Rowen is the reason I am thrilled to be turning 30. I have always wanted to be a mommy and now that I am, life seems to mean so much more. I am feeling more grateful and fortunate than ever- I'm healthy, happy, and I have my Rowen. It is the perfect time to enter the next decade.
I was spoiled all week long by my mom and dad, my girlfriends, and Eric.

Last weekend we went to buy this bike. This is exaclty what I wanted for my 30th birthday. A comfortable (maybe a little old ladyish- notice the large bike seat and wide set handle bars) bike to pull Rowen's bike trailer around with. Rowen and I have already gone on a dozen bike rides this week. Thank you Eric, mom and dad! I love it!

Devri and Cooper at Mobius Kids
On Wednesday, my actual birthday, I spent the day with Devri and Cooper. You can see highlights of our day together on the post below. Thanks for such a fun day Dev!

Aimee, Josie, me, Devri, and Sara
Friday night, I met with some of my closest girlfriends for dinner at P.F. Changs. Aimee and I are both turning 30 within just a few weeks of each other. Happy Birthday Aimee! Dinner was fabulous and the drinks were great too but nothing could beat the desserts we ordered. Yum!

On Saturday, Eric and I enjoyed a couple's massage. It was glorious! We both felt so relaxed as we left. While we were gone, Rowen stayed with my parents and made this adorable sign for me (with the help of Grammy and Papa of course). He added his personal touch with color crayon and kitty and truck stickers. My mom said that as he was putting the kitty stickers on he kept saying his favorite sound, "meow", and then pulling them off again to get a closer look at each one. Needless to say, the sign does look a little worn but that is what makes it so special. Rowen also helped my mom make the birthday treat that we enjoyed later that evening and when Eric and I arrived to pick him up he was enjoying licking freshly beaten whipped cream off of the beaters! Lucky boy :).

Tim, Devri and Cooper; Todd, Josie and Bennett; Eric, me and Rowen
Along with my parenst and Eric's parents and Uncle Shon (Uncle TJ and Erin couldn't make it), Devri, Tim, and Cooper and Josie, Todd, and Bennett came over to help celebrate my birthday as well. I am so fortuante to have such amazing friends. They are supportive, loving, funny, and all have little ones too (Maddy- you were missed)! Les and Theresa brought fajitas from a restaurant in Cheney (they tasted so good!) and my mom brought chips, salsa, tamales, and the birthday dessert. But most importantly, my dad mixed fresh margaritas for us! They were perfect and just what I wanted! Thanks Dad! I think we should make this a tradition, don't you?

In addition to the chocolate pudding pies my mom made, my parents also brought two mini birthday cakes from Huckleberry's. These little cakes are made by Just American Desserts and are the same cake that I enjoyed at my baby shower! I think they are the best cakes in the world (so does Devri by the way). Rowen helped me blow out the candles and then we all dug in to delicious chocolate pudding pie and little slices of the mini cakes. It was perfect.

Rowen and Bennett each enjoyed a mini pudding pie of their own! Rowen loved his and dug in with vigor. Bennett was a bit more reserved but in the end they both ended up covered in chocolate pudding...

... so they ended up taking a bath to get all cleaned up! Isn't this adorable?

Since Cooper couldn't partake in the pudding eating (he's not quite to eating chocolate yet!) he didn't need a bath so he enjoyed watching the bigger boys play in the water
and watching himself in the bathroom mirror!
I wish I had photos of my family to share. My parents are just amazing and seem to make every birthday for me special and very memorable. You would think that by your 30th birthday your parents wouldn't put so much effort into making your birthday special but mine continue to be incredible parents even into my adulthood. I don't know what I would do without them. Thanks for the special day (or week or month!).
I'll leave you with a video of Rowen and Bennett enjoying the pudding pies!
