Oregon Coast Day 4- Arrival at Beach House!

On Day 4 of our trip we left Astoria after an amazing yummy pancake breakfast at the Pig N Pancake (or something like that). I think Eric talked about the breakfast he enjoyed there for the rest of the trip. He really wanted to go back but we didn't have time.

We drove towards Rockaway, stopping at Shipwreck Beach.

Parked the handy camper at the top of the beach...

ran in the sand and water with the ship behind us...
enjoyed a good PB n J for some more energy...

for more running in the sand and water :)...

And of course, we had to play "1,2,3!"

We gathered back into our cars and headed to Tilamook. We couldn't get into our beach house until 4:00 so we had a few hours to burn. We decided to have some Tilamook ice cream to pass the time :). It was amazing but I don't have any photos of this experience. I was too busy eating my Rocky Road double scoop on a chocolate waffle cone!

Finally, we arrived at our beach house. We had about an hour before the my aunt and uncle and thier 4 kids and my Grandma were to arrive so we unpacked and checked the place out. I can't believe I didn't take any photos of the house. I was too busy chasing Rowen around that it didn't even cross my mind. He was thrilled to be in a house again where he could run the halls and climb the stairs and zoom his cars around the carpet. The house was perfect. Three bedrooms, a HUGE loft with 5 beds, 2 living/family rooms, a big kitchen and dining area and two bathrooms. We could literally step off the back patio and walk a very short sand path to the beach. One of our favorite activites at the house was to sit on the back patio, chatting, snacking, laughing, and watching and listening to the beautiful waves come in.

As soon as the rest of our clan arrived we literally helped them dump their bags, coolers, etc in the house and then we ran down to the beach! The kids had been in the car for 8+ hours and the adults were all just as anxious to see what we had all been waiting for...

The ladies (+ Rowen) on the beach directly below our house

All the "grandkids"... my Grandma really wanted a photo like
this one so we took care of it right away :)

GiGi arriving on the beach to watch her kids play

Liz and Aunt Kim... giving each other a hard time as usual!

WOW! Look at that sunset (and Uncle TJ)!
What a great way to end our first few hours at the beach.

Great pictures! It sounds like a very memorable trip. I love the picture of the footsteps in the sand.
