Keeping Busy

We have sure been busy this summer so far.
Here are just a few of the things we have been up to...

Rowen is doing so well on his bike. He rides his bike at least one time a day if not several :). He has learned to make skid marks so our bike rides are pretty much stop and go, stop and go but he is having fun on his bike so we don't complain!

What a big kid!

We have been so lucky to get to spend some time with cousin Matt this summer. Rowen looks up to Matt and loves spending time with him! Matt is so sweet with Rowen, very patient and protective.

Red Wagon

Rowen was given a season pass to Riverfront Park for his birthday from some good friends. We have used it 3 times now and plan to use it many more over the next few months. Rowen was a little annoyed here. The little girl behind him in the photo actually understood how to drive her bumper boat and was bumping into Rowen. She thought it was fun but he was not impressed and tried to get away from her :).

Probably his favorite ride... flying the planes.

For some reason Rowen decided on this particular day to not ride any of the horses. He only wanted to ride on the bench seat with Matt. He is so 3!

We enjoyed the Cheney Rodeo Parade with some good friends. The boys loved watching all the horses and cars go by. Rowen was once again not impressed by the clowns but he loved the long line of tow trucks that went by!

We went Strawberry picking with Grammy a few weeks ago. Rowen was so adorable. He was truly thrilled with each and every strawberry he picked. He probably picked close to 80 but every time he picked one he showed it to me and oohed and awed over it. So darling. We took the strawberries home and made strawberry short cake for Papa's Birthday dessert that night. It was delicious!

Mommy would point every now and then and Rowen would bend down for me! Strawberry picking with a pregnant belly isn't very easy but when you have a 3 foot partner it is a piece of cake!

We have enjoyed one hot summer day at the lake with Grammy and Papa so far. Grammy bought Rowen some water cannons. He loved squirting us all!

Playing and exploring with Papa on the beach.

Rowen spends lots of time at Grammy and Papa's house. Here he is fishing in the pond with Papa.

Grammy takes Rowen exploring around the golf course. Rowen's favorite part is probably exploring and playing in the muddy banks of the pond.

Rowen completed a session of swim lessons in late June. I had him take this class 3 times and he did pass on the 3rd time. We need to sign up for another session soon to keep things going for him. We are very proud of the progress he has made over the last 3 months.

That is just a few of the fun things we have done this summer so far. We have lots of plans for the next few weeks. I feel like this summer is going so fast. We have to soak up every moment!

We went strawberry picking this summer too. Your right it was hard to do with a belly! Not to mention it didn't take too long to get hot when you are standing on your head in the sun :)
It's fun to see how Emery and Rowen like so many of the same things. And I totally agree, I love each new age with Emery better then the last. But I've always enjoyed toddlers more than babies. I just love it when they can talk to you. I love the things they say and seeing their little brains work.
Rowen sounds like such a smart little boy. Must be all those good genes :)
