Christmas Eve 2009

Christmas Eve starts with a big breakfast with Mammy, Papa, Uncle TJ, and Aunt Erin.

We don't wait long to start the gift giving after we have stuffed our bellies...

Mammy and Rowen sharing a pickle from his new play food set that goes with his new...

...play kitchen!! Thanks Mammy and Papa!

This is Scout- a super smart puppy friend who knows Rowen's name; he sings songs about Rowen and much more! This was a huge hit- thanks Aunt Erin and Uncle TJ! I will try to post a video of Rowen opening this gift because it is so funny. He was amazed when the puppy said, "Hi Rowen!". The look on his face was priceless :).

Scout and Ro getting ready to cook something up in the kitchen.

Rowen's new trike. The handle comes off so that he can ride it all by himself when he is ready.

Scout getting a ride on the new trike.

Yummy! Scout is getting to taste lots of good food from Rowen's kitchen.

Papa getting in on the fun too!

Next Christmas they will be a married couple!

So done with photos by this point :)- we tried.

Rowen with his beloved Mammy and Papa.

After our little gift opening we headed over to my parents house to meet GiGi and the Gill's so that we could all leave together for our traditional ice skating at Riverfront Park.
However, Liz's parents had a little surprise in store for her...

Grandma's old car!

Oh wait, there is a note on the front seat... "Your new car is in the garage!"

She was shocked...

...but she jumped right in!

Liz, thanking her mom and dad for such an amazing Christmas gift :).

After we all stood outside for a long time admiring Liz's new car, we decided that the temperature was a bit too frigid to go ice skating outside.
So, we headed to Mobius instead...

The adults had a lot of fun too!!

Boat racing with Rowen and Olivia. They did this for a long, long time :).

Charlie on the digger.

Right before we left, Charlie organized a little performance featuring Rowen, Olivia and himself.
Mostly it consisted of Rowen running circles around the stage while Olivia banged on the drums and Charlie coming out from behind the brick wall to model a new costume (I don't have a single pic with Charlie in it too). We had the greatest time clapping for our three little thespians and laughing at their adorable performance.

Then it was time to go home for a nap. But we would meet up later for dinner and gifts. Stay tuned...

You guys have such wonderful holiday traditions with your family. The pictures of Rowen "cooking" in his new kitchen with Scout are too cute. And the pictures of Liz with new car #1 and new car #2 are great - bet this is a Christmas she won't soon forget!

That is such a cool idea for giving her a car- the note was very exciting I bet. Glad you all had a great Christmas. You deserve it so much!
